2018 Active Health Insurance

In 2018, the Board of Pensions was able to keep the structure of the plans the same. The Health Reimbursement Accounts will continue to pay for most expenses with the exception of Emergency Room visits, Specialty Medications, and Out-of-Network visits.

Plan and Premium Comparisons

2018 Premium Cost Sharing

Clergy who participate in the group insurance plan are expected to contribute towards the cost of premiums through pretax payroll deductions. The amount of the cost sharing depends on the number of people being covered by the group plan. Note: These represent a $200/year increase per level over 2017 rates.

  • Clergy only -  $1,000 per year
  • Clergy plus one - $1,200 per year
  • Clergy plus two (or more) - $1,400 per year

Local churches determine how much lay employees must contribute towards their premium costs. Check with your supervisor or church administrator for specifics.

Health Reimbursement Account (HRA)

NonStop Wellness will continue to pay the majority of out of pocket costs this year.  Simply use your NonStop Wellness Debit Card (or BennyCard) at participating pharmacies and providers.

  • Blue Shield members will need to provide an Explanation of Benefits for any payments that exceed $250.
  • Kaiser members can pay all Kaiser related costs with the debit card.
